Proofreading

Annotated PDF illustrating proofreading services

You’ve produced your brochure, book or ad and it’s now in its final layout. Perhaps you’ve had it translated too. The translation has been inserted, formatted and laid out. And you’re about to send it to the printers.

But first you want to make absolutely sure no last-minute errors have crept in.

Last-minute check

We proofread your English print-ready copy for:

  • spelling mistakes
  • punctuation mistakes and inconsistencies
  • grammar mistakes
  • word divisions
  • missing translations, where applicable
  • inconsistent headings
  • inconsistent use of capitalisation in headings
  • correct uses of apostrophes
  • etc.

Different hyphenation rules for different languages

In German and Dutch, the rules for word divisions (hyphenated words at the ends of lines) are straightforward.

But to all you German and Dutch speakers reading this, did you know that different rules apply in English?

And what is more, did you know that the rules for word division in British English are different again from those in US English?

Incidentally, if you want to check word divisions in UK English, use the OED. And to check them in US English, use Merriam-Webster. Or read our blog post for more information!

Discerning eye

Send us your print-ready PDF and we’ll cast a discerning and scrutinising eye over it.

We’ll dot your i’s and cross your t’s. And yes, the apostrophes are correct in that case!
